Beginning May 12th we will be temporarily closed on Wednesdays.
For thirty four years we have been open seven days a week closing only for Thanksgiving and Christmas. During this last year plus of Covid we have been open every day to serve our community except for the two holidays. With all of the different state mandates and levels of operation we have found it impossible to keep our in house dining going. The various mandates treats our employees like ping pong balls as they don't know if they have jobs longer than next mandate.
Employees throughout the food service industry have found it has just been better for them to not work and collect above average unemployment benefits. Normally we would have 10–15 applications at any given time to look at. Now we average one or two a month. Our entire industry is in this situation along with most other businesses.
Our wonderful core group of employees has held together this past year to serve our great customers. They are some of the hardest working, and dedicated team members we've ever had and we are so extreamly grateful for each and every one of them. With the continued stress of Covid mandates and the loss of a couple full time employees that were leaving the area we simply can't cover 7-days a week at this point. We are currently short 9-12 team members. Hopefully the State will make it more attractive for people to return to work and we can all get back to a real normal.
